Inglewood Resident Wins Rheem Central Air Conditioning Unit from Cumberland Cooling
We know, we know, winter is coming, but remember Tomato Art Fest back in August? We sure do. Everyone had a blast, but it was hot. Dang hot. If we do say so ourselves, however, life felt pretty good in the Cumberland Cooling Zone — and for East Nashville resident Ian White, it was a cool weekend, indeed.
Yes, we realize all that’s left of the summer’s tomato bounty are the green fruits (or vegetables, you decide) that intrepid gardeners rescued before last week’s freeze, but we wanted to launch our new blog with lucky Ian’s juicy story.
Hundreds of our fellow sweaty East Nashvillians stopped by to chill and to register to win a Rheem Central Air Conditioning unit, but sadly only one of you could win. Ian, a local tattoo artist and owner of Safe House Tattoo, was deemed the lucky winner and we headed out to his place to install the unit well before the mercury plummeted and his tomatoes kicked the bucket. In fact, we began the installation the week following the Tomato Art Fest so Ian and his family could enjoy their new Rheem air conditioning unit for the rest of the summer.
We were thrilled to learn that Ian and his wife were just starting to save for a new heating and cooling unit because they knew their aging package unit was starting to show its age.
“It was nothing short of amazing! I got the call a couple of days after the festival and it caught me off-guard because I never win anything,” said Ian. “I kept trying to poke holes in it because it sounded too good to be true, but everything really was included. Cumberland Cooling’s owners, John Mark and Blake, were absolutely wonderful. They’ve got a really good vibe going on.”
(Aw, shucks. Thanks, Ian.)
“They were totally up-front about each phase of the installation, and they didn’t interrupt our day-to-day at all. We were already super impressed, but one of the things that really stood out to me is that they ran into a pretty big problem early on in the installation process. Basically, whoever installed our old unit did it incorrectly. They took care of absolutely everything, John Mark came over on his day off to make sure the repair work was done correctly. They even replanted the grass around the unit! Probably did a better job than I could have.”
(We might start blushing soon.)
“They’re so genuine and genuinely kind. Their goodness really comes out. I work closely with people all day long and my BS sniffer is fine-tuned. These guys are the real deal,” said Ian. “Every time I look at the air conditioner, I see the professionalism they put into it. The care they put into the installation is now part of our home.”
(Yup, we’re blushing.)
Ian went on to gush about how quiet and efficient the Rheem is. In case you’re curious, we’ll happily share specifications with you here:
Rheem 3-ton 14 SEER Natural Gas Package HVAC

- Louvered condenser compartment to protect the coil against yard hazards and/or weather extremes.
- One-piece top with a drip lip to help keep water off of the unit sides.

- “Weep holes” and channels to help manage water run-off.
- Externally mounted refrigerant connections are conveniently located for easy service diagnostics.

You just never know when it’s going to be your lucky day. So don’t forget visit us next year at the Tomato Art Fest. Who knows what kind of crazy we’ll have cooked up for y’all? In the meantime, it’s pretty cold out there — so give us a call if your furnace needs a tune-up or if you’d like to request an estimate for a new, energy-efficient furnace.
We’ll let Ian have the final word: “If you ever need a new central air conditioner or you need to have your furnace replaced, go to Cumberland Cooling first. Had we known how good of an experience it would be, we would 100%, without a doubt, go with them.”
